Open layouts elevate the kitchen to the heart of the home, often featuring an island that provides extra counter space with seating. These uncomplicated layouts make small homes feel larger and promote a modern sense of relaxation and casual living. Like to host and entertain? House Design - Contemporary Exterior - Front Elevation Plan #938-92

Busy families will appreciate the versatility and storage that make this modern farmhouse (plan938-92) stand out. Three bedrooms on the main floor include the master suite (complete with a walk-in shower and double sinks), a flexible den/guest suite, and another guest room. An open layout between the kitchen and great room renders an easygoing flow.

Upstairs, two additional bedrooms and a media room give older kids room to stretch out. Everyone will gather around the kitchen’s big island or out on the spacious back lanai, where an outdoor kitchen invites grilling.

House Design - Barndominium Exterior - Front Elevation Plan #923-114

Like to host and entertain regularly? This unique barn-inspired farmhouse design (plan923-114) features an open layout that makes entertaining uncomplicated and effortless. The easygoing floor plan between the main living spaces creates an organic flow for friends and family to roam around, while a generously sized front porch is perfect for outdoor enjoyment. Storage is made easy with the large mudroom/laundry area (just off the two-car garage).

The sizable master suite is located to the left of the floor plan and features two walk-in closets. Four additional bedrooms, a living room, and two bathrooms reside to the right of the first floor. An upstairs loft could be used as a home office, game room, or study.

House Design - Craftsman Exterior - Front Elevation Plan #1067-2

With excellent flow and a modern layout, this exclusive Craftsman home (plan1067-2) combines old and new. The kitchen will become the center of activity, overlooking both the great room and the open dining room. Busy families will appreciate the extra-large pantry, which holds a desk and a freezer (in addition to shelving and counter space).

Each bedroom includes a walk-in closet, with the master suite’s big one opening directly to the laundry room for extra convenience when doing laundry. Also in the master suite, check out the double vanities, big tub, and separate shower.

A calm, relaxing lifestyle awaits you in this Craftsman house plan design (plan892-29). The left wing of the floor plan is dedicated to the generously sized master suite (which includes dual sinks and a large walk-in closet). Enjoy warm summer nights or cozy fall mornings on the outdoor terrace at the rear of the home.

Upstairs, a bonus room (and bathroom) could be used as a guest suite, extra bedroom, or home office – the options are endless.

Plan 938-101 is a Craftsman house plan design that greets you with a covered entry (topped by a metal roof). The relaxed, warm feeling continues with mixed siding and prairie style windows. An open layout between the great room, kitchen, and dining room make everyday living seamless. Want to enjoy the great outdoors? Rear glass sliding doors (just off the great room) open to a generous covered lanai – perfect for al fresco entertaining.

A cozy fireplace is centered on the great room wall, and completes the ambiance of a true Craftsman home. The kitchen provides an island and convenient access to the dining room, walk-in pantry, and a powder bath. Located to the left rear of the plan, the master suite provides all of the amenities you could ask for (a private toilet room, soaking tub, and walk-in shower with dual vanities), while a spacious master closet completes the suite. A convenient mud room (with a bench for kicking off your boots) resides next to the two-car garage for extra convenience.

A gray exterior delivers a modern touch to this farmhouse design (plan 1067-4). Inside, an open layout flows between the large island kitchen, the great room, and relaxed dining room for easy access when entertaining family and friends. Two sets of French doors open from the living room to the rear porch (which features an optional outdoor kitchen) allowing natural light to shine through.

The private master suite (check out the walk-in closet) is located on the left wing of the floor plan, while two more bedrooms and a game room (or in-law suite) are housed to the right.

We can’t get enough of this open concept ranch floor plan (plan51-1137). With tons of features that make everyday life easier, this design would work well for all kinds of families. Busy families will appreciate the extra-large pantry. The mudroom/laundry room (with lockers) will help homeowners stay clean and organized. Unwind in the master suite, complete with a huge walk-in closet, two sinks, and access to the rear porch. Two more bedrooms share a bathroom on the opposite end of the home.
