Plan Description
This fine brick Georgian is based on Gunston Hall, the home of George Mason,
the author of the Virginia Declaration of Rights and a major contributor to the
Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution. Built in 1755 in Lorton,
Virginia, the home is highlighted by a pavilio-ned entrance, angle quoins and
bracketed cornices. The first floor is bisected by an elegant central hall,
with two large rooms on each side. Each of the rooms--living room, dining room,
family room and country kitchen--has a fireplace and built-in cabinetry
featuring fine Georgian de-tailing. Other highlights include sliding doors to
the terrace, a work island and beam ceiling in the kitchen and extra storage
space in the two-car garage. The blueprints include three- and four-bedroom
options.
